CMA Music recommends young beginners start out in a group program, but on occasion that is not always possible. Private piano instruction is recommended for older beginners, children whose schedules do not allow them to attend the group times, and children who have had prior piano instruction. Our teachers instruct students in a number of musical genres and styles, ensuring they have a well-balanced knowledge of musical rudiments including playing, theory, note reading and ear training. Depending on the goals of the student and the recommendation of the teacher, lesson curriculum may span from just-for-fun lessons to the pursuit of Royal Conservatory of Music certification.

CMA Music teaches guitar students not only to play their instrument, but to understand the rudiments of music. Along with teaching a variety of genres, our teachers ensure students develop an understanding of theory, rhythm, and note reading. The curriculum for beginners includes a mixture of instructional standards as well as popular songs.
