Team CMA

What is it? Team CMA is a competitive music team that will be participating in the 2023 Kiwanis Festival in Guelph. All piano, vocal, violin, and guitar students are welcome to audition. The students will prepare as a team but will compete individually or in group categories if applicable. Students are selected by invitation only and based on their progress, practice habits and dedication towards improving their musical skills.

Why Should Students Participate? We want to ensure that any student participating in a festival is as prepared as possible. The benefit of joining Team CMA is the expertise and support of a number of instructors, the opportunity to play in front of groups of both peers and professionals to get feedback and to ease nerves, and the support system the team environment provides.

What Does the Program Include? The Team CMA music program includes six master classes, where students work with several different instructors on their pieces in groups and individually. Each team member will also receive a Team CMA jacket and an invitation to a celebratory pizza party once the festival is over.

What does the Program Cost?  If selected as a team member, there is a one-time fee of $285.00 which includes all six 2 hour long master classes, an official Team CMA jacket, and a pizza party after the competition has ended. Vocal students will also be provided with an accompanist at no charge. Returning students who do not need a Team CMA jacket have the option of paying $200.00. If they wish to receive a new jacket, the charge of $285.00 will apply.
